Speaking as a younger Mason who is heavily involved in several groups as well as Grand Lodge committees, you've nailed it with this one. Thank you! When will we get back to the substance behind the titles, and not just collect them like they're Pokemon?

Reminds me kind of Kurt Vonnegut's first novel, “Player Piano,” in which a visiting sheik from some made-up Mideast nation and his aide were caught in the middle of a revolution here in the U.S., and were mistaken for Shriners. The rebels were luddites (haters of technology) and were loosely organized into units according to their fraternal affiliations, in the 1950s, as this was a “high point” of fraternal organization membership. It was an absurdist side plot in the story. The Sheik could not comprehend the differences between workers and slaves.

so well describe, we have the same here VERMONT , Masons collecting titles like baseball cards thinking it makes them better Mason, they should learn the first degree we mention to the new one… TITLES AND HONORS CAN NEVER SERVE YOU AS A PASSPORT TO THE GRAND LODGE ABOVE.

Titles are fine, and most of them are well earned.
But on Title can replace doing what Masons are meant to do. Where is the Title for help a single fallen Brother, His Widow, or Orphans?
